
TEAMS
COLOR GUARD
The Color Guard is renowned for their participation in all sorts of school and civic events. They march in parades, present the colors at various activities across the city, earning countless community service hours in the process, and compete in several drill meets throughout the year. In order to succeed members of the Color Guard must learn to work well with others, develop good communication and listening skills, and be committed to the task at hand.
HONOR GUARD
The Honor Guard is a team of dedicated cadets that maintain exceptionally high standards of appearance and conduct and show aptitude for ceremonial duty. Those who are selected to be on the Honor Guard must be able to act precisely as part of a group and present themselves with respect and integrity. Members of team will learn to become adept at marching, ceremony, and the use of a saber. The Honor Guard represents Eastwood High School and the Trooper Battalion at many formations, parades, and official events throughout the year.
ARMED DRILL
The Armed Drill Team is a ceremonial and highly competitive team that perform in several events and drill meets throughout the year. Members of the team will practice performing commands, movements and routines involving the use and presentation of a demilitarized rifle. The team is judged for the precise execution and coordination of these commands. The team is open to any cadets capable of working in a group and willing to put in the effort needed to improve.
UNARMED DRILL
Unarmed Drill is category of drill team with a focus on marching and presentation and an emphasis on neatness and uniform movement. Teamwork is essential as is the ability to act swiftly without hesitation. The Unarmed Drill Team is all about having confidence in every aspect, whether that be in your actions, body, or voice. The team competes several times a year and is open to any cadets who are willing to step outside of their comfort zone, speak loud, and try their very best.
PT TEAM
The JROTC Physical Fitness Team is a highly motivated team of athletically focused cadets that practice day after day to achieve their best psychical condition. Members of the team must be dedicated to achieving their goals and show a willingness to consistently put out their best effort. The PT team competes in several JROTC competitions throughout the year, always pushing themselves to the very limit of what they can accomplish.
ROBOTICS
Robotics provides students the opportunity to incorporate STEM within JROTC through the implementation of engineering and computer science skills. Students will be required to brainstorm ideas and solve problems in order to design and build a robot made entirely from VEX Robotics components. Cadets will be required to show their progress through the use of an Engineering Notebook. This notebook will be used to annotate every aspect of the robot building process from the transformation of an idea on the drawing board to a fully functioning competitive robot.

HORN DETAIL
The Horn Detail is a team of cadets that attend every Eastwood Highschool home football game, to cheer on our players. They do push-ups in the end zone, however many points the football team scores the Horn Detail will do the same number of push-ups. The Horn Detail blows a train horn at every touchdown, signaling the rest of the team when to do push-ups.

AIR RIFLE

JLAB
The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl is a multi-stage all-service national competition. Composed of two categories Leadership and Academic Teams, cadets competing in JLAB will test both their knowledge and teamwork through a series of timed questions, culminating in the Level III JLAB Championship in Washington D.C.

ORIENTEERING
The Orienteering team is a group of cadets that learn how to navigate the land using only a map and a compass. The Orienteering team will demonstrate what they have learned by competing against other JROTC units. Using their teamwork and navigational skills to determine how to travel throughout an area of wilderness to find specific points designated on a map.

CYBER PATRIOT
CyberPatriot is a national youth cyber education program created in the United States to help direct students toward careers in cybersecurity or other computer science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The program increases the awareness of cybersecurity by delivering a basic education in a competitive format that enhances leadership, communication, and cooperation skills among its competitors.
